So i just bought my 04' RX-8 yesterday. the previous owner had no problems with it. earlier today when i drove it i had the moonroof down, it worked fine, a few hours later i drove it again and it wouldn't open. i pressed both buttons and heard nothing. i keep trying every hour or so and nothing. and right now it's not closed all the way. it's sticking up in the back about 1cm. i checked the fuse and it's fine.

yeah i checked the fuse, it was fine, and even changed it with the other 30w fuse, didnt do anything

 

Is the key turned on?

 

ok in my first post i described while i was driving that i tried to open it and nothing happened. i've tried it while driving, and while parked with the key on. still nothing. The engine light came on yesterday while the guy i bought it from was driving to meet me. everything seemed fine with it then, the sunroof just started acting up today. could it be electrical?

 

Maybe the switch went bad. Have a freind push the switch while you slightly nudge the window. It could be mechanically stuck.

If your not good working with your hands, thake it in to the dealership.

 

yeah we tried pushing on it while opening it and still nothing happened. so i guess i'll take it to the dealership soon.

 

well my moonroof works now, after leaving it for a few hours, and pressing on it more while pushing the button, it opens and closes fine. for now.

 

Still might want to bring it in, in a old car of mine had the moonroof get stuck open.
