misfire when cold?

So i guess the snow just blew in this week and i went out to start my car when it was 25 degrees outside:

the start was fine, just when it started to run at high idle, i hear some popping sounds inside but the popping sounds were more pronounced outside at the exhaust

i rev'd it to around 3k and the popping sounds were even more frequent and more noticeable and there was even some RPM drop

i think it's a misfire but i am not sure

25k miles on plugs wires coils

there was no check engine light or any thing other than just that

Popping while warming up is normal. However, you should plan a tune up soon as the ignition is due to change at about 25k to 30k miles.

Here is the DIY for Coils, easy to put on. Keep track of the wires.

RX-8's run rich at start up on purpose. Typically in the 12's (AFR) and then to a solid 14.6 at idle when warmed up. Revving it while cold is not a smart idea.

well i do know that revving it is bad for it, but on some really cold days, the initial start up goes all the way to 2900rpm and thats about as high as i revved it
