hey guys,

first just wana say I am a total RX-8 newb I have only had my new exciting rotary for about two months trouble is the engine just failed Mazda has agreed to pay for a new engine but only if i replace most of the exhaust system. I guess my cat was clogged and thats what caused all these problems they want 3400 dollars for the exhaust and labor they seems like way to much am i wrong? or does this price sound fair?

 

The cat pipe alone is $1500.00 from the dealer.

 

op where are you located? if you are close ill let you borrow mine or ill sell it to you for 1700. jk about the price. im sure a local member would help out

 

located near SLC Utah. thats nuts they want 1500 for the cat, right now im looking at high flow Magnaflows for about 600 bucks for the most pricey ones on andysautosport.com

 

just look for a used one in the fs section or ask your local sub forum for some help

 

If your core is under warranty then your cat should be under warranty, they both have 8 years warranty.

 

I read that the emissions warranty is 8year/80,000miles my car is at like 96,000
