Major and annoying pob with my 8. Please help.
Hey everyone,
Lately my 8 has been pissing me off to the point of letting it go and that is saying a lot because I normally love this car. Anyways, for the past 2 weeks or so everytime I drive it I get this bigtime power lag. The car just doesn't have the power that it used to and it feels like it is getting ready to stall out half the time. Just to give you guys an idea, I can floor it in first gear and it takes forever to spool up to about 5K and then it speeds up. Also I have been on the highway driving in 4th gear and the damn thing has NO POWER. Mind you that this is while I am going about 55-60 mph and it will not accelerate when floor'd. I mean I used to be able to cruise in 6th with no problem and if i had to pass someone I could drop it down to 4th and accelerate no problem. Also my CEL will come on, flash for a bit, then turn off. What is going on? Please help!

It will probably be one or more of the following:
- Fuel sock needs to be cleaned or replaced
- Air filter heavily clogged
- Coil packs need to be replaced
- Spark plugs need to be replaced
It is also possibly:
- Engine is losing compression and needs to be replaced. (unlikely, it doesn't really sound like that is what you are describing)

yeah thanks for the input everyone! I took it to my dealership and the spark plugs were getting corroded, my starter is on the fritz, and I apparently have TONS of carbon buildup in my engine. They gave the engine a couple of treatments to get rid of the carbon but the mechanic thinks that I will need a new engine which he can get for me courtesy of Mazda due to the engine still being under warranty. Maybe he can get me on of the new R3's haha I wish. Anyways thanks for all the input and help!
