Just wondering what your oil pressure gauge reads? Mine sets 2 ticks past the middle. I saw a pic in a mazda brochure and it sets like 4 ticks past the middle. Can anyone confirm where theres sets for me.

Mine is 1/8th inch past middle at idle.

 

Doesn't matter - it doesn't function, anyway. It is an "on/off" gauge. If you oil pressure drops below 15 PSI or so at idle, it will show zero. Anything above that (running pressure is 50 PSI), it will show somewhere around half.

 

I was pretty sure it used to be a little higher than what it is now. When I start it it takes a good bit of time to raise up.

 

Nope, it's a "dummy guage". On or off. When it gets real low it will start swinging to 0, then back up. When it gets any lower it will stay down... then... boom! 'nuff said.

 

Have you had a PCM recalibration (flash) lately?

I know that mine sits lower now that I had MSP04 completed.
I was on "L" before.

 

Yup! that is what I thought it was. Since the flash it has sat a little lower but I tell you this thing sounds a dump truck in the morning!

 

emme recycle this thread... 50 psi??? isn't that a bit low to be turning 9k rpm's?
