loud noise comming from the glove box area

hey guys only reason i got this car was to beat on... so it is all i do with it......
at around 8.k rps i am starting to hear a real loud noise....like rattling or something....
and it sounds like it comes from the glove box area.....and it is only at around 8k rpms or more .....any clue what it could be? i really hope its not the marble thing you all talk about cause if i get a new engine on this thing its staying at the dealer...because i dont want it anymore. any help would be great she sounds smooth and rides like a dream untill the 8k mark now it still pulls great but i just dont want to make anything worst.

Exactly the same thing I have, you're probably getting it from 7300 to 8000 like me, yup, behind the glove box, no power loss.

After reading all the issues some people get with their 8's, I can't be happier with mine. I've never heard "marbles in a can", and have never had an issue with it.

I really don't understand how some people experience issues and others don't. A lot of people complain about burning oil, low gas mileage, "marbles in a can", flooding, etc. I haven't noticed anything, although I do hear a very small "grinding" noise in between 7k - 8k, but I think that's normal.

I still like the car and if it is something that is an easy fix and goes away i will keep this thing till its dead.....i have driven many cars and this is in the top of the list for fun factor.

You said that if you need a new engine, you would get rid of it. If it's that much fun to you, and Mazda would replace it for free, why wouldn't you keep it?

Well, it's the heater core. The dealership should be able to replace this for you, provided you can convince them it's not "normal" and that you are in fact using high grade gas.

Actually zen...jimmy's description makes it sound like SDAIS doing its thing

Jimmy - check it out again, it should be between 7000-8000, it shouldn't be over that.
