loss of power and stalling

i have a 2004 rx8 with 78000 miles that has a real loss of power and is stalling whenever i let off the gass. i have changed the spark plugs and the cat and nothing changed. also i was driving the other day and it started to smoke really bad. has anyone heard of this at all or have any ideas what it might me. oh i also had it read for the engin light and it said that it was miss fireing.

You accidentally posted in the later year RX8 forum but after that many miles, you should really get new ignition coils. If money isnt too big a deal than you should get aftermarket coils like BHR since the OEM are junk.
