I did the reset but it didn't work. 2004 rx8, it should work... thoughts?

hold the left and bottom buttons, turn to ACC, 3 secs, turn to "on", 3 secs, should see a flash on the rear defrost... easy enough right?

Hi guys was wondering if anyone can help me as im a little confused and not very experienced.
I was out driving the other day to go and pick my friend up from her house, i was in less than 15 minutes came back out and my car wouldnt start it was making a clicking noise when i turned the key but only clicked once each time i turned the key, my girlfriends mum was towing me home when i put it in gear it started, i drove it home without tow and it was fine but i turned it off and tried to start it and it done the same thing. is this the starter motor or something else?

would be very greatful if someone could give me some idea of what im supposed to replace?
many thanks.
Tony

check the battery and the terminals first. clean the battery connections and make sure they are on tight

I need help!!!! I live in Texas and its hot as hell. the fresh air, recir, and rear defrost leds are all on. a/c is inop and it feels like an oven in my car. I have an aftermarket radio with the metra double din kit. FYI... just installed a refurbished a/c control unit and 2nd new metra kit. all wires were soldered correctly and all connections are tight and properly seated. I even tried to leave off the ac unit extensions and plugged it straight into the axxess box. I also tried to perform the a/c amplifier reset procedure (hold down bottom left two with key off 3sec, then key on 3sec....) and the led never flashed. ohh yeah. I can't turn on the ouside temp on display and it always shows air going to floor with fresh air on. if I hold mode button down it will let me access time set and custom message on display. does anyone know how to fix this. thanks!

OK, so why would I want to do this when I can just hit recirculate manually when I want lower temps? There are plenty of times when it is 70+ outside, and I want AC and fresh air, highway cruising so revs are up that is plenty cool enough.
