A Littlle Advice Please...

I recently got an RX-8 05, and now I am deployed, I want to build up my car while I am here, but I am fairly new to the car mod scene. I started looking at a few things that I want to get, and I've been doing comparing prices with other sites too.
My car is all stock, I've already ordered a Weapon R Dragon Intake, and 18" staggered rims with Nitto tires. I've read some threads on here already, and it's difficult to understand a lot of it without having my car with me, I'm a really big hands on learner. Let me get to the point, I am basically asking for some advice, my intentions for the car before 4 DEC is to have suspension and weight reduction done to it. I do know I want Coilovers instead of just lowering springs, and I do already have intentions on purchasing a Seibon TS Carbon Fiber hood. A B&B Exhaust system. Does anyone have any advice on what brand and type of Coilovers I should purchase, I understand that they are not cheap, but I don't want to spend over 1200$ for a set. Any advice would be appreciated, and any suggestions would be welcomed.

To best answer the question, it would be good to know what you want to do with the car - AutoX, Drift, Street, Mud Bogs (just kidding ), etc.

Without this info, general guidance would be to go after known weak points of the vehicle first and then build out from there. For example: OEM coils fail every 30K or so, they fail gradually, and they can cause a lot of other problems when they are headed for the exits. So upgrade to the Black Hole Racing coil kit with fresh plugs and wires is a good idea. Since your signature says TX, your in the "heat zone". So check out info here on cooling issues folks in places like TX, AZ, FL, etc have had. May lead you to an upgrade on the radiator, aftermarket water pump, alteration of air flow over the radiator, upgrade of oil coolers, etc. Another basic component to think about is the catalytic converter - most aftermarket hi-flow units don't add alot of extra horsepower but cats are always being cited as a common fail point with the RX8. Others might be upgraded starter/battery (if not already done by the previous owner), either update to current factory flash level on the computer (if not up to date by the previous owner) or custom mapping (several folks on this board can assist here), and similar stuff covered by the many TSBs released by Mazda on the 04 - 06 vintage vehicles.

Yea, I've already decided to take back the Weapon R, and possibly get the AEM Cold Air instead.
I want to do Street, at least until I get a little more experience with tuning and all that. I will look in to a radiator, and other other mods to keep my car from over heating. Thanks, and I'll check those other threads out.

Outside of appearance mods the smart money would go towards driving classes and attending local events when you get back.

Blame it on the guy in the wheelchair!

Wishing it could be otherwise, but in an alternate universe maybe they have the infrastructure to deliver hydrogen fuels to daily driver vehicles. In this universe, pursuit of deployment of that infrastructure is not yet ready to materialize. Not because the technology isn't within reach, but because the power structures are either defending turf around petro or they are off chasing other forms of alternative energy replacements to petro besides hydrogen.

Hydrogen from zapping water is a huge waste of energy, commercial Hydrogen is made from natural gas, in a reformer - one of the most carbon intensive processes in the petrochemical field.

Nobody wants to replace gasoline with 'this' hydrogen - and electrolysis hydrogen is too expensive and wasteful until new electric generating technology comes along.

Maybe aliens will send us a couple of fusion reactors, but until then, "no hydrogen for you!"
