So I just got a new Keyless Entry for my 8 over Christmas and I am excited to finally be able to open my car without a key!

However, I went to program it, and I tried every way I could imagine (I used the one I found in a post on here) and I couldn't get it to work.

Could it be that I need a new battery, or would I need to get a new one?

 

i had the same thing happen.
my remote started to have to be used closer and closer to the car. so i figured that it was the battery dieing. i went and bough a new battery, replaced it and now the clicker doesnt work.
i have used the thing at auto zone that tells you if you remote is still transmitting and that showed good and i did the diy and everything went well until the part where you program the remote to work with the car then nothing would happen.

idk what to tell ya i gave up

 

Well I just ordered a new battery...I am hoping that will work. I really don't want to have to go to the dealership and get one, they will charge me so much for a new one.

 

they told me 65 bucks i told them my key works just fine.

 

lmao exact same thing i told them....... but i would like to know what the problem is? i have the same problem.... bad receiver in the car?????

The remotes seem to randomly crap out...and it isn't the battery..
