Key fob problem

My key fob stopped working a month ago. So I replaced the battery. Didn't matter. So I ordered a new one. Didn't matter. So I bought a new battery. Didn't matter. I searched how to program it. Followed the instructions. Didn't matter. The car is unlocking and locking the doors just like i see in the videos. But the remote doesn't program. I had the key fob tested and it is emitting a signal. I have searched for a similiar story but have found nothing. Maybe someone here can help.

What year is your car? If you own a 2004 and uses the keychain FOB, you will: 1. Need to have the dealer program the FOB. Or 2. Buy a switchblade (like the one from eBay below) and follow the same programming instructions you used for the original 2004 FOB.

MAZDA SWITCHBLADE KEY/FOB

Do you have four (lock, unlock, trunk, and panic) buttons in your keyless entry FOB? The Switchblade key should look like mine. Also, do you know where the fcc ID and the visteon # etched in the FOB?

Is there a list where the receiver is? I don't know what else to try.

Flip the switchblade open, look into the space and you will see a small tab inside. Push that with a mini flat head screw driver to seperate the FOB and the key; then verify your Visteon model and FCC code.

I just contacted the seller. Hopefully its just as simple as gettong the right one. I am just nervous that someyhing else is wrong because my original fob may have been fine. I threw it out when I thought it was busted. What if it wasnt? What if the receiver is bad? I did the diangnostic for the keyless system on the car. It worked but I dont know that reciever is included. All I know OS that my doors locked, then unlocked, the hazards flashed, the tru.k opened and the horn beebed. But I dont know of the receiver is included for all that to happen.

Yeah, that will not work. I was helping another member who bought the same one made by Mitsubishi. You need to return that and get the exact one the specify the right model and FCC code. If you don't mind a used one from eBay, this will surely work: MAZDA SWITCHBLADE KEYLESS FOB

Ok, I finally received the right key. I programmed it with no problems. But my regular key fob still doesn't program. I'm stumped. The switch key fob shouldn't really work with my car according to the dealer but the regular one should. And also, are there instructions on how to program the switch key to start the car. Once it's cut of course.

Search is your friend, brother... The 2004 FOB my only be programmed by their M-MDS(Mazda Modular Diagnostic System), I believe. That is why most opted with the switchblade instead of trying to reprogram the OEM FOB. But here is the DIY: Code your own key / remote. Additional questions should be posted there so others could help you.
