I just got my rx8 and im having a few issues on it. can someone help me out?

Sorry, new to this site.
My rx8 leaks coolant and it looks like its coming from the over flow. i seen coolant in that area, all over on the side of the air filter box.
i changed the cap, the engine is not over heating. but it does say its low on coolant.

 

The engine temperature gauge is a dummy gauge. You are already into critical danger when it starts moving. You can be overheating without it moving.

There are many reasons you could be pushing out coolant, including overfilled, clogged radiator, stuck thermostat, failed coolant seals, clogged water lines, failing coolant overflow bottle, failing cap, and actually overheating.

It's going to take some work to figure out what it is. I'd start with a new thermostat, a coolant test for combustion gasses, and an oil test for coolant. Then move to a new coolant bottle with cap, then a new radiator and water lines.
