It is possible to have to change plugs again after a year. I make it a point to change mine every 15-18k miles. How many miles do you have on the car? When were the coils last changed if ever? If it's been 30k miles or more you should look into changing them as well. The BHR ignition system is a great upgrade. It wouldn't hurt to upgrade wires this time around. Stock wires are ok, but most people go with one of the many aftermarket sets available. Check with some of our vendors for best pricing.

I change mine once a year regardless of mileage.

In my case, I had to change my spark plugs within a year of changing it last time. My engine felt like it was struggling in the higher RPMs, and sometimes couldn't even redline. After plugs were changed, everything was normal again.

Spark plugs are past their peak form after 20k miles or less. If the coils are weak and the wires old they may last even less.

Car was starting/running fine, but I changed mine at 30,000 miles. Normal looking deposits, gap within Mazda specs, so I think they could have gone another 10,000 without a problem.
