Ill just keep this short.

I dont often drive my 2004 RX8 anymore as I take my sister's car around due to 33mpg and i drive a lot lately.

Earlier this year i had issues with the car. It would hit a rev brick wall at 6.5K-7K and wont pass 8K. And getting the revs up there results in misfires. The exhaust would also smell very very rich and i have jet black tips. I traced the issue (so i thought) to a terrible battery connection. Replaced the connection, reset the trims, and it ran great for a while. Month later problems returned. I started taking my sisters car around as i didnt have time for headaches.

Im betting it is a coil problem and will check and test them. I have the BHR kit and have about 35K miles on the coils. I have NGK plugs with only 3K miles on them. I will clean them anyway.

Recently i have had issues starting and flooding. Sometimes....even after the engine is warmed up and i start the car after it being off for 20 minutes, the car goes to hold an idle and then it misfires continuously and the car wont rev past 3k RPMs. It sounds muffled, vibrates violently, and then shuts off. If it shuts off this way it floods and i have to hope it burns off with the next start. If not then i have to leave it for a few hours.

Another issue that happened recently is occasionally the gauges will drop off while running. MPH goes to zero while driving and then returns to normal and RPM needle drops to zero and then returns. It's odd to say the least.

Could any of these issues be connected somehow? And all my misfires happen in the same spot..so most likely faulty coil. I was also thinking maybe fuel filter/fuel pump issue too. SSV valve moves freely so i think that's ok.

CD player also stopped working. I press the button, it says CD, and then doesnt do anything. Cant change discs and it doesnt play. And it is holding 6 of them

So much for short lol.

Just some opinions...maybe i missed something. Thanks in advance. I am selling the car (im upset about it as i dont wanna part with it) and i dont wanna sell it to someone with these issues.
