Idle and stalling problem after battery swap

I recently replaced my old stock battery with a new Optima Yellow Top. I went through the ECU reset procedure twice and am still having trouble with the car finding idle and stalling when coming to a stop.

I think there may be a throttle position sensor issue as it seems like I need to apply more pressure to the pedal to get the desired result.

Any idea why a battery swap would cause this?

Anyone have suggestions to troubleshoot/fix the issue?

Thanks,
Mike

your fuel trims need to be relearned.

Give it about 5 or 6 drive cycles, and you should be fine

I just posted about this in another thread. I've been having the same problem for a few years. Happens every time I disconnect the battery. It usually takes a couple of days to reset itself and is fine, but this time I'm on day 10 and the car still dies at idle.

when was the last time you changed the plugs and coils? Is your air filter and MAF sensor clean?

Last time it took me more than a week for the ECU to relearn the fuel trim.
And somehow it's idling smoother than before I disconnect the batter....go figure...

Ok. I think it has been resolved. I disconnected the battery, cleaned the MAF and throttle body, did the ECU reset, and let the car idle for awhile. It seems to be about 80-90% back to normal.

I will drive it some more this weekend and let you know how things progress.

Thanks!
