Well, more info is needed.
What year is your car? Mileage? Last time you had it serviced? What type of gas do you use? What is your driving style?
Be as detailed as you can.

its a 2005 with 74000 miles, manual, i never had it serviced except for oil changes, i usually use regular, i redline it atleast 3 times a day. it feels like its only doing it on really hot days or after driving it for long time. power feels nice and normal today. so idk i heard it doing it yesterday and def didnt sound right but i dont think i heard it today tho but im sure itll come back after a long hot drive. what do you think it is? and thx for the reply bro

At what RPM/Load are you hearing the MIAC? With it seeming to occur on a hot day and with regular gas, my guess is ping (preignition), but it's hard to say for certain. If it's happening under load, that's extremely likely.

I'd suggest trying premium for a bit to see. You are far more likely to get by with regular in cool weather than in hot weather (at least according to the owner's manual), though it isn't recommended in either.

thanks jsight, it starts making the sound around 7500 till redline, well ive tried both premium and regular from before and found no difference between them so i started using regular but im for sure gannal start using premium now just to see if it goes away. and one question if i do hear the sound again should i take it easy on the car? will it cause further damage?

Hey "bro", the link I gave you was full of useful info that will help with your question, you idiot.

Sorry if you imagined my hand on your aching ***, but I was giving you advice.
Next time you get your panties in a twist, discuss it on a sorority forum.

RX8Soldier, it's common knowledge that noobs don't want to search, read or face the hardfacts.

They would rather be given the answers and automatically assume it's the cheapest and easiest fix.

In this case, swapping to a higher octane fuel.

If it's ping, then definitely will cause damage (esp. at high load).
