I let it sit, now it won't start.

I recently started working from home, and wound up not driving or even starting my RX-8 for a month. I worried that with the alternator not juicing up the battery that it wouldn't start, but it started right up - the first time. The second and each subsequent time it didn't start. I tried jumper cables, but no joy. It sounds like it's turning over just fine, but it just won't catch and continue running.

Any ideas? Obviously I'm not very knowledgeable about engines. I know more than my fiancée, which isn't saying much.

I'd appreciate any insight into this.

Did you start it up and turn it back off again, or did you let it run for a while?

I started it up and let it run about 30 seconds.

Awesome, thanks. Should I just pull the fuse for the fuel pump for a bit and then try and restart it, or is the consensus to push start it?

Thanks again.

Either use the deflood procedure (search for that, it's a DIY) or push start it. Pulling the fuse and just letting it sit won't do anything.

If you have the room and help to push start it, go that route. Quicker and easier.

I think you're right. I've tried the deflooding procedure and no joy. No one is here to help push-start right now, unfortunately.

Fyi, the defllooding procedure might take anywhere from 30+min to hours, just make sure there's a source to provide juice for your battery. GL~
