Wow cris, really sorry to hear about your trans. Good thing its going to be covered though. This kind of worries me too becaue most of your mods are aesthetic. All I have is the exhaust but if the trans cant hold up to stock power levels than this is dissapointing. Is the trans from the 05 exactly the same as the 04, or was it improved?

ok i got my car back and few things to note.....they re-used the clutch i had because they said it was barely worn at all (which was fine by me because it wasnt damaged).....the pedal feel is different than before...felt lighter and easier to manage...the throws feel kinda notchy but were loosening up as i was shifting in traffic so i guess it just needs more breaking in......the dealer told me since the clutch is broken in i could drive the car the normal way i would (i babied it a bit any way) but i did hit it a few time and it feels like im putting way more down to the wheels.....so my assumption would be that there was more wear in my trans that should have been and it would have went eventually no matter how i drove it.........maybe i just didnt realize the signs of tranny failure before it actually happened.....but i must say it feels DAMN GOOD to be home!! .......as for the paperwork i didnt get any yet....they are mailing me the copies of the work order because they just wanted to see me get into my car and be another happy mazda customer

and by the way i spoke to the service manager at my dealer and he told me he would make sure every one that mentioned they were my buddy would get taken care of in the most professional manner and he wont turn any one away

Can you post up the part numbers they replaced in the tranny, once you do get the paperwork.
