I have an 05 6 speed suspension package . Can you TELL from the VIN number if it has HID or Regular headlight bulbs or is there a way you can tell wIthout getting into the fender well !!. When I turn the headlights on, You can here some kind of humming tone !! Is that the sound of the HID headlights when there on. Let me know PLEASE !! THANKYOU, PM me PLEASE, mazdatim { TIM }

 

Uh, do they look a little blue when they start up, then eventually change to an even color? If so, they are HID. If not, then they are normal.

 

The giveaway is the TWEEeee sound from the ballast - Don't turn the ignition on, that will make the air pump whine - just flip the headlights on. The lights will get brighter gradually, too, over about two seconds.

yeah, that tweeeeeeeee is the ballast.. most likely HID.
