Hot start problem - but only in the winter
So, last winter i was having hot start problems. The engine is revving like mad, but slow and often NO ignition when hot.
Did some things to try and fix. Ended up deciding it was worn engine and bad compression, so i start saving up.
Sommer hits, and the problem disappears. I'm thinking it's the engine cleaning finally kicking in.
Fall hits, and the problem is back. What?? Really??
Working temp and compression problems relating to this should be the same if the ambient temp i 50 or 65, so maybe it isn't compression after all?
Someone told me that on an old car this could be a choker problem, and that maybe there is a sensor or something failing.
Is there some similar function to a choker on a car with injection and computers and what not?
Maybe a sensor that picks up ambient temp or intake temp and feeds it to the computer? Is the MAF influenced by the intake temp?
Please help, i need good ideas.
I have better battery and the improved starter. Better wires and uprated coils is 2 years. Plugs is 6 months.
I have been using "BellAdd B1" engine cleaner regularly since problem manifested itself last winter.

Except for spark plug wires and battery the entire car is unmodified and with original Mazda parts.
It's an European 2004 RX-8, low power, manual 5speed, 75.000 miles.
Hope someone can help.
Regards
Niels

I am using 8,5mm. Magnecor Competition Wires. I have never had a CEL in the cars entire history.
Using Optima RedTop battery btw.
Originally i changed the battery, coils and wires because of starting problems, but those problems was both hot and cold, and they completely went away.
When the engine is cold it starts within the first 2 revs. It literally starts instantly.
