hmm...the flood issue or ECU

first of all..hi... noobie here...new board member and new owner of an 07 rx8gt.

i've already gone through the *%$%^ flood issue and thx to this place for the DIY steps on the 5 min. deflooding thread. What i'm wondering though is if my issue is because of my noobie ignorance ..OR.. is it the ECU and possibly i don't have the latest installed. (i haven't read much about the whole ECU thing yet so maybe my year of car doesn't even apply?) Is this something the dealer should know?

up untill now i haven't been starting the car as recommended in the manual. I just crank it over quick and i don't hold the ignition as it suggests for 10secs. So my question is... would this simple rule of not turning and holding the ignition for a bit be the possible cause for my car not starting ? (i've got less than 1500km on her/1000miles).

i have never started it up and then turned it off shortly after so thats not an issue. Does it just not co-operate at all in the cold? it was about -15C when i tried to go out but shes parked in a garage.

i haven't had it out yet after the deflood and the test will be again when it gets cold again. It looked like the garage was on fire with all the smoke though. naaasty.
