High idle after throttle body cleaning
Got the po506 cel. i have an idle that would dip past 0mph and come back up after being put in neutral when i pull to a spot, so i decided to clean my throttle body and MAF, checked for air leaks and since i always clean the MAF so that was good, however it was my first time cleaning the TB so it was really dirty, when searching for diy videos i managed to skip the part where there was still coolant in the lines connected to the TB. so i removed one of the lines only to have coolant go all over the place. Anyway after putting everything back together and refilling coolant the idle is kinda high in neutral, drives great though. i ran across a thread similar to this one same symptoms after cleaning and resetting, the guy said he was gonna repost to state whether the car just needed to relearn everything or not. he never did so does anyone have any idea what it could be. i guess id rather have really high idle opposed to no idle haha.
So did you reset the fuel trims? (20 brake pedal stomp) ? I see you mention you read a thread about it but didn't mention if you did actually do it.
If you did that and the idle is still high i would hunt for a vacuum leak somewhere (one of the intake tubes that you may have forgot to connect)

I always hate removing the battery terminals! it sucks because I need new ones but I guess it won't hurt to try it. If anyone has any other suggestions please... Enlighten me. And if coolant got to the coils I would have a bad idle right? I was concerned about that as well i dried everything to the best I could even used a blow dryer for a bit..

Might be the best $10 you ever spent on the car!

Well gents just re-plugged the battery and idle seems to be perfect resting a little bit before 1000 when fully warmed up so thanks for the advice on unplugging the battery that seem to have fixed it and also took my check engine light awaybut let me drive it for a couple of drive cycles and we'll see if the check engine light comes back i'm currently letting the car idle for a little bit to see if my coils were affected in the coolant mishap.
Yeah, both the 20 stomp and the battery disconnect/test mode procedure have to be done to reset fuel trims and sensor profiles (the trims were probably fine, but the TB sensor was likely reading differently once you cleaned it).
