OK, here's my sorry tale of woe:

Car sat idle on the driveway for a few weeks and the boot was left open so the battery was drained. I jumped it from the other car but connected the positive (black) on Mazda to the negative (black) on the Nissan and it all went **** up.

The alarm went off and all the lights started flashing. I disconnected the battery when I reconnected it the next day nothing happened when I tried to turn it over. No lights, nothing. I checked the fuses and 2 were blown - engine and stereo - so replaced them and now the lights at least come back on when I turn it over. Trouble is it still won't start.

The sequence goes like this: insert key, turn to 'on', all dials flip up to max then back down, then all dash lights come on and the indicators flash constantly. Turning it over has no effect and nothing I've found on the net seems to work (unlock door with key, press button, etc). Clicking the key fob also has no effect on the car but the LED on the fob does light up when buttons are pressed. Tried both fobs, both do the same and neither will turn the car over.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm really not looking forward to getting a tow truck out

Sounds like he did the same ting but the symptoms are totally different. My problem appears to be immobilizer based as I have power to the car, it just won't turn over. The 120A fuse is fine.
