Exclamation Help! Missing bolt leaking coolant

I have a very small coolant leak on the top of the passanger side of my engine where the alternator bracket bolts down to the engine (where a coolant line connects to the engine) right above where the omp lines run I'm missing a bolt
I need to know the size of this bolt so I can replace it.
I post a pick of the bolt that I'm missing and where the coolant is leaking out from but I dont know what size the bolt is
If someone knows it please let me know!
(Going out side to take a pic)

Take another bolt out and goto Ace hardware and have it sized. Most of them have a thread checker that tells you what it is. I looked in the parts manual and it doesn't have the bolt types listed..

if its a bolt from the water pump, it uses different size bolts.

Its not the water pump its the black alt brakcet that bolts down to the top of the engine where the coolant hose connects to the engine.

AJ, I would say yeah lets go but I'm at work till 11pm.

Thermostat housing cover......think its a M8 OR M10X1.5 about 30mm long...

You could order one from the dealer or buy one at a fastener supply place.....

I can check in the morning

Thumbs up

Ok its about damn time my cell phone sent the pic or my yahoo account just got it, here is the pic of the missing bolt with the coolant leaking/squirting/spraying out under wot load.
Let me know what you guys think of the leaking coolant/missing nut.
Well I was at AJs, he had a extra one and gave it to me. Its not a bolt, its a nut
I hope my coolant stops squirting out
I keep you all posted!

There is a nut and a bolt on the top of the thermostat housing......it should stop OK...there are only 2 fasteners...and a rubber ring gasket seal on the thermostat...so it should be good with both connectors tightened up. A bit of blue thread locker would keep it from vibrating off again

Good to hear you have it fixed..
@!!narotordo, do you have access to a torque wrench?
i'm at work but will look up the tq specs when I get home. nothing like fasteners missing from a cooling system on a drive.

Dan has a great idea with the blue loctite.

I'm going to try the blue loctite like Dan said.
Well my friend has a torque wrench but I torqued it down pretty tight. I did not want to snap it, it feels kinda soft.

I'm going to clean up my engine bay and keep an eye on it for leaks.

Thanks all.

the torque specs of the nut are 13.7 - 18.8 Inch pounds. use a 1/4 torque wrench.
3/8 and above torque wrenches are Foot pounds. Big difference.
