Anyways..shadycrew. I figured it out. I pulled the plugs out and they were not gapped. And plugs were not in the right place. Also T2 plug was not in all the way..i touched it and it almost fell out..also is was not wired up. So I re-did every thing and it ran perfect...i heard you don't have to gap the plugs because they are pre gapped...not true. I have a friend who worked for Mazda for 9 yrs..but I got in contact with him since he is over seas.byt he said gap should be .48..you guys think that's why some other rx8 owners are experiencing power loss? Not gapping plugs? ...mine idled fine and felt more powerful after the test drive.

I butted in because you are new here, appeared to be grasping for an answer, and were rude to someone who has helped me in the past, and whose opinion I value.
Also, while giving the appearance of not being helpful, his response was probably due to the frustration of trying to help a lot of people who are looking for an instant answer from someone instead of searching and finding a solution that may have been obvious in one of the many troubleshooting threads.

I try to be respectful of people here, and yes, I usually think twice before butting in.

Did you test drive it after fixing each thing? I'm gonna guess you didn't.

Fact of the matter is...you didn't think twice. 1st..did he/she answer the question? 2nd..was the question directed to that person..and I will do the 3rd thought for you..did he or she have to answer at all if they were "frustrated"? .. So before you reply. I suggest you don't and move along. You are not going to win this argument....if the person was frustrated..then he/she should have never posted anything..and I am pretty sure that person doesn't need you to fight there fights for them. Anyways...i did not test drive it after each thing I adjusted..i gave it gas and tried to feel the difference. But the plugs were most obvious when I got down there and double checked wiring..and wen I did that. Started up. Gave it gas.. Felt good, drove it. Took it on the hwy, Refueled and drove it more and it ran perfect. Waited about...3 hrs and went outside to do it all over again and nothing changed, it was all still good.

A quick internet search turned up this thread.

https://www.rx8club.com/series-ii-te...g-gaps-209381/

Also, I'd say your plug being loose and almost out caused 90% of your issues.

Oh yea! Almost forgot. If anyone is smelling fuel in the cabin..check the fuel pump housing..under the 90* elbow there might be a fracture..it was weird that mine had one so I went to junk yards to see if it was common..mazda heaven had a few and just about all of them were untouched. I pulled them out and they were cracked. Just a note.

Yea..before I moved to the plugs it "felt" Like a vacuum leak..so I searched for that. But it was were it was suppose to be..it was already late out so I held the rest off for the next day..so I checked the plugs after, they looked burned..but read that they run rich but this looked really bad.. So i bought new ones and the guy helping asked. Do you need the plug gap? Obviously i said yes..but i had to double check and verify and..some of the threads on this website had answers like.."they are pre gapped, or top gap is ".59" ..so that's wen I got in contact with my buddy over seas and confirmed the gap size. And gapped them and perfect.

The thread I linked is fairly straight forward...

Your Mazda mechanic buddy was right but 90% of the time I'd never trust a Mazda mechanic with a rotary.

Yea it was, I read it over, thank you for that. I will be sure to pass that on to the next person. He likes and builds rotaries..so that's the only reason I asked him lol

DoubleRR8.. I'm glad you got things running smooth again!

As I said in my last post.. I was going to give it a couple days before concluding whether or not my problem has been resolved.

It's been a few days now and I spent a lot of time with the car over the weekend.

Everything is perfect now! The car runs great! No more loss of power!!!! I'm loving it!

Idle is still a little fussy.. but I'm not complaining.. It's waaay better than before, so I'll take that!

Edit: Oh! I forgot to mention my gas mileage.. which has gotten much better! I can actually get between 20-22mpg on the highway now!

Anyone know where I might be able to find the connector for the VDI solenoid?

In one of my previous posts, I mentioned that it broke (wire came out of the connector)

Here's a picture of it..

I mended it for the time being, but with plans to go back in and permanently fix.

It looks like I might have to do that sooner than later, because I now have some power loss above 4K, which I'm 90% sure is due to that connector. I bet my temporary fix has failed and the wire is dangling, and the VDI solenoid is no longer functioning, but I haven't checked it out yet.

Either way.. I'd like to get a new connector. I couldn't find a part number for it, and I searched around ebay to find the connector, with no luck.

Thanks!

You will have to get someone to cut if off a a full harness and that will be next to impossible. I have been looking for a throttle body connector for years.

Darn! I was hoping that wasn't going to be the case. Oh well, time to get creative!!

I pulled the metal connector out of the plastic housing and it's pretty much just a female quick slide connector like this:

I guess I can just go to the auto parts store and grab a small box of these and solder the wire to it, and slide it back into the housing. That should solve it.

Thanks for clarifying for me!

Been a while, but update on my issue of stalling when coming to a stop. Replaced the neutral safety switch. The one mounted under the car. Not the clutch sensor at the pedal, and the problem is solved. No more idle issues, and no problems putting the car in neutral on the highway. Or depressing the clutch.
