hey im matt just got my rx8 in Jan 2011 and the rotary engine is new to me so any help would be appreciated thanks , I was driving my 8 down the highway and all of a sudden when i hit 4000 rpms my check engine light came on and i lost all power to accelerate so i coasted off the highway and turned the 8 off . When i try'd to start it again it shook pretty bad and took a long time to start and when it ran it ran rough . So i decided to get it towed to a mazda dealer and get it checked out they checked it out and found it had a code P0301 on it , they checked for sparks and they were good , and when they preformed a compression test they said that the #1 rotor had 0 PSI they wanted me to replace my engine and get a new converter . Im just wondering if i would have to do a total engine replacement or just replace the Apex seals in the engine. any input would be appreciated Thanks again
