'unreliability'?

I drive 150 miles a day on highway @ mostly 65-75mph...I don't red line...too often
But I change the oil every month...haven't changed any other fluids except radiator and whatever fluids the dealer changed up thru 50k mile maintenance....although I should change the differential, brake & trans fluids.

The only thing that I change are brakes and tires...currently my 5th set (currently Good Year F1's, best set so far, but very loud tires)

And I also, replaced oxygen sensor @ 100k.

If your AC goes off look at the engine temp gauge. If it moved to the center of the gauge, or past, then your coolant temps have gone above 230 degrees. This will shut the AC off too.



Turn your radio on. Now push the on off radio button down and hold it. At the same time push the top of the SCAN button down. Check your digital radio display and it should tell you what the AC potentiometer is set to. 1 being cold and 16 being hot.
Rotate the temp control **** and see if it changes the value. If it doesn't then your temp control **** has failed. Push the radio on/off button to reset the radio controls.
Easi_E1: thank you very much for providing the instructions on how to check what the potentiometer is set to. I am having problems with hot air blasting all the time, and this helped figure out the issue. It turns out my temperature control is being finicky. I am now able to keep it at a steady level, but I won't be surprised if I'll need to have this replaced soon.

Anyway, RX8club.com delivers yet again.
