Headlight problems

I finally found a RX-8 Its a 2004 in pretty good condition except for a couple small problems here and there. The foglights were not working but they both simply were unplugged - easy fix! Now what has me posting here for some help is in inner HIDs. I don't even know what they're for so I haven't had much look searching around for people having the same problem.

The lights closet to the center of the car on both sides do not come on no matter what I do. Fuses are fine as well. I've never had HID lights on a car and I tried to familiarize myself with how they work but I just can't find the problem or what these lights are even there for.

If anyone has any advice for the next steps in troubleshooting and getting these fixed it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Are you talking about the small one with the projector lens(far-left in your picture)? They're not HID, it uses the same bulb as your rear license plate light and the map/reading light of your car. You have tiny hands? Good, you could easily reach inside and pull out the bracket that holds the bulb. It turns on when you switch the lever to the first notch for the tail, parking, and dashboard lights.

Yes I am.. I'll run out and try to get the bulb out. Hopefully they just need replaced! Thanks for the help I'll report back with my findings.

EDIT: Drivers side isn't burn out, my hand isn't quite small enough to get the pass. side out so I'll have to get a bit more industrious with it tomorrow..

One burnt bulb shouldn't affect the other, perhaps, there's a connection problem

It isn't burn out, eye balling it it did look burnt out.. I checked for continuity and it was fine. I was hoping this would be a easy fix!

plug the bulbs in your license plate light plug to make sure they are good
if they are it could be a wiring problem

/\ Good tip, if the bulb is good there is nothing more to check.

The power comes from the 10a fuse marked 'Tail', but the tail lights, side markers and license plate lights share the power (and the headlights use the same grounds.)

If they all work it's un-possible for your 'parking lights' to un-work.

Thanks for all the help guys, license plate light was blown and so was the passenger side bulb. I'll have to pick up some better looking bulbs tomorrow!
