hard to start

can anybody help me with my situation. I've had my rx-8 2004 for about a month everything runs great, except when i run the car for a long time. It has a hard time starting. It has 71000 miles and the engine runs strong, with no other problems.

Thanks dave

What is the maintenance history on the car? Do you know how many miles are on coils, plugs, and wires? How about your cat? Do you have the upgraded starter (pre 2006 models came out with a weak starter)? Did you do a compression test before you bought the car? Hard start problems are associated with compression issues. Hopefully, your case is different.

Can you post the exact compression test results? You need to have 3 numbers per rotor. Hate to break the news to you but 6.9 - 7.1 is not excellent (if the numbers are adjusted). It barely passes the specs if not failing. Do some search on the upgraded starter. Here is a thread to get you started: https://www.rx8club.com/tech-garage-...recall-196072/

They probably replaced two of the coils and not all four because only two were failing. I personally change all four at once...What about plugs and wires?
