Angry Ghost in the Machine.... my car has gone insane...

Ive been trying to solve this problem for 2 months and im getting nowhere and therefore im gona post it here in detail.

This all started when one day i start my rx8 up with out any problems and go for a ride and park it again. the day after it chokes and refuses to strart.

I thought it was flooded and decided to try waiting a few days and see if it would deflood it self.

2 days later i try starting it again and it starts a litle but more in the way a nearly out of power car does. i turn the switch again and only get "tikk tikk tikk tikk tikk tikk tikk" sound like its totaly out of power.

Then i thouhg crap.. the battery is dead.. (which was wierd becouse i didnt leave teh lights on or anything) so i bring out the jumper cables and try starting it.. it picks up a little but refuses to start.. (but no ticking..) then i leave the jumper cables on for a litle while and try to see if it charges the batery... i try again and the same thing... just a litle weake sound like its trying but no start.

I take the cables of and try.. "tikk tikk tikk tikk tikk" sound again..

now i didnt have the cash to take it to the dealer (they charge insanly much and say they dont cover any waranty because its an imported car from the us.. not EU..) so the car stands in the parking lot for about a month. now i tryed and it was totaly dead.. no power what so ever. I try the jumper cables again and soon as i connect the minus the horn starts going like NUTS... (something the car has never done.. and i didnt even know id had theftprotection).

only thing i got by trying to jump start it afther it was empty was that the horn whent nuts and all the lights in the console decided to have a disco... blinking like crazy.

Im thinking about taking the battery to a shop and get it fully charged up but im not sure what the damn problem is.
Im kindof a car new (mechanicly wise) so if anyone could help me i would realy aprechiate it.

thx in advance guys (and girls)

pls send me an email also or sumthing.. flame_frost@hotmail.com

Turn on the headlights when you try to crank. If they go out completely it may not be a matter of the battery not having power but rather that the starter cannot mechanically overcome whatever is in the engine. I dunno if you have any tools or not but at least borrow some stuff from someone so you can take out the plugs before trying to crank it over again. It may be that you have so much fuel in the chamber that the starter can't turn over.

Personally I'd pull the plugs, clean em off, crank it over real good w/plugs out and gas pedal to the floor (clear flood mode), then put the plugs back in and see what happens.

i tryed but to remove the plugs i need to get the driver side front wheel off.. and i dont have the lock... never came with the car.. probably got lost by the previous owner. any way of quickly removing the locks?

I have a spark plug key so i realy just need to remove the wheel. otherwise i cant reach the plugs well enough to turn them. they are realy tightly scewed in

Dealer might have a master key for your wheel lock lug nut. Problem is, even if they have one they most likely won't let it off their premises so you would have to find some way to get the car to them.

I just cant believe you let it sit there for over a month, without taking off the battery terminals, cleaning them off, and putting them back on.

How about gas... are you out? I mean it sounds like we're going through "Starting a car 101" here with ya.

Car is probably flooded like Earth in the Cataclysm, and the starter and/or battery are either very weak or dead. Since you say you have little or no mechanical skills, I fail to see how you can manage to start it up yourself. Call your road service and tow it to the dealer, and let them fix it.

Problem solved (albeit in a more expensive way)
