If your clutch isn't completely disengaging, you'll have a difficult time getting into gears.
Does your pedal seem to wobble left and right or does it squeak?
Does your pedal look like this:

Look up at your pedal assembly and see if there is visible metal fatigue.
Here is what it looks like when the pedal fails:

Point is, if that rod at the end of the pedal assembly isn't traveling centered into that clutch pipe, you won't push enough fluid to essentially release the disc completely from the flywheel.
Another possibility is air in the clutch line.
What year is the car and when was the fluid last changed?
If you had an oil leak, you should have noticed a spot on the ground/garage.
Did you do anything to your car prior to this happening or was it "out of the blue"?

If its not bad, you can remove the pedal and have it welded where the assembly joins the "backing" (that you saw torn in the pic above).
This is what I did with my pedal.

An alternative solution to welding; mechanical reinforcement: http://www.fluidmotorsports.com/p-18...cessories.aspx
Here is some help to fix it until you come up with money to buy it from fluid if you don't have it right away, plus it's always good to get it welded then buy the bracket that way it's double reinforced.
