Faulty oil level sensor diy repair
Hi guys,
My car has developed the oil-light-but-oil-level-fine issue. It's in the VIN range for the TSB for this issue and all the symptoms match.
Since it's long out of warranty, I don't really want to bring it to the dealer and pay for a new oil pan and sensor, if I can help it.
What is the actual problem with the sensor that triggers this TSB? Can I replace just the sensor and not the entire pan?
Thanks!

No need for a new pan, but you do have to drop the pan to get the sensor out. Then it's just 2 bolts. As for the actual cause of failure, beats me.. All I could suggest is cleaning the connector at the pan since they can get pretty nasty if there's a leak anywhere in the area.
