Faulty Fuel Gauge?
I've notice recently that my fuel gauge behaves funny when I am at 3/4 of a tank. Two days ago before leaving for work, I was at 2 tics above the 3/4 mark. When I arrived I was at 1 tic under 3/4 of a tank. When leaving work, I put the key to the "on" position and my fuel light comes one and the mark is on E. It then moves a tic up after 30secs. After 5 minutes of driving, the gauge goes back to 3/4 of a tank and and only moves 1 tic by the time I reached home.
I've filled up since then, and it is behaving normally when comparing it to my mileage. Any idea before I take it to a dealer to get the normal "we can't replicate the issue" response. I've tried searching but maybe im not using the correct terms.
Thanks

Are you parked on a level surface at home and at work?
I've noticed my readings can be off when I'm parked either uphill or downhill. These readings tend to even out, though, once the car gets back to flat terrain.

Yes, I am parked on a level surface. Still doesn't explain how I can drive a couple of miles with it on E then it shoots back up to 3/4 of a tank.
