If the midpipe is not a TurboXS brand then it will not bolt up. TurboXS' exhaust will only bolt up to their midpipe. There are no gaskets out there that will help fix the leak if the midpipe is other than the TurboXS brand.
Also, there is a donut gasket that comes with the TurboXS Midpipe when you order it.

Yeah, there's also a gasket that goes from the midpipe to the headers, those can be found at ANY Pepboys and Autozone for dirt cheap.

It's going to be hard to find a donut gasket for the midpipe to exhaust though. Not many places carry a 3 inch donut gasket...

Holy crap, $53?! You can get them from Pepboys/Autozone/Kragen/etc. for around 8 to 15 bucks!

Once again, the people at the dealerships don't know what they're talking about. Those idiots don't even know what a Donut Gasket is called...

Well, as long as they satisfy a customer then I guess it's alright.

That's not from an RX-8, I'm just showing you what the dealership is referring to as a "Seal Ring." You'll need that to bolt up your midpipe to your exhaust. The stock donut gasket is only 2.5 inches so that will not work with your midpipe, you must get a 3 inch donut gasket to get a proper seal.

Here is a pic of a sealing doughnut, between the cat (mid-pipe) and the exhaust. Sorry it's a bit abused.

And here is a pic of the one in front of the cat. Exhaust manifold to cat.

Donut gaskets may sometimes look different but it will function the same. The purpose of a donut gasket it so that if the exhaust moves, the donut gasket will prevent it from leaking.

Edit: I got the donut gasket straight from TurboXS.
