EPS Failure

I know I've seen a few threads on this but damn if I can find them. Has anyone else had a EPS failure? Today I go to make to right turn and the steering felt heavy. I pulled over and turned left and it felt normal. Turn right again heavy. Then the EPS light came on. I cycled off the ignition and now no power steering and the light stays on. So Monday it goes in to the dealer to check it out.

Funny thing (in a sad way), I was close to my dealership when this occurred so I pull in to make an appointment. The service writer asks me to pop the hood because he wants to check my power steering belt. I'm sure glad he's not the one working on my car. I did check the fuses and what connectors I could reach and all appears correct so it looks like a failure.

There is something wrong with the forum search feature ATM. I can't find anything on a range of different searches.

Code was B2278. The mechanic reset the system and the PS started working so they assumed gremlins and told me to pick it up. When I arrived and they went to pull up the car and it was out again. They're looking at it again tomorrow and hopefully will find the fault this time.

B2278, Torque Sensor problem....It's mounted on the rack, detects the steering force and sends a signal to the EPS control module.

I'm happy with mine. I have never had a problem with my car though. Some are more expensive, but they seem to be capable enough.

This problem is obviously intermittent, you can't come down too hard on your dealer yet. If it had been back three times for the same fault, then you'd have cause for complaint....!

I can't recall anyone else having this code. I remember Meowloud had an EPS failure..... a few other spurious faults have appeared, but overall the EPS system has been pretty reliable.

Gomez.

Actually this dealer is the best I've found. And I'm not really complaining. I am just consistently amazed at the lack of product knowledge I find. I forget they probably have better things to do than pour over manuals researching problems they have not yet encountered. After the car as been out a few more years I'm sure things will get better.

Turned out to be a loose connector under the Intake. Stiffening it up with the KONIs and the tower bar may have caused it, who knows, but at least it's fixed

By loose, does this connector have the same snap type clips that all the electrical connectors have? Define loose for me...

Loose, meaning never snapped in all the way to begin with and and destined to come loose. The connector is below the REVi next to the overflow. It is clipped to the main cooling fan and 3 has green/XXX wires.
