engine warning light

Was driving fast on motorway, very warm outside, then got a yellow warning light came on and couldn't rev up more than 5000rpm anymore, I guess it has switched to safe mode.
Mechanics told me that was nothing then he reset.
Once "fixed" I rev up again, and got the same issue, this time mechanics told me it is the metering oil stepping motor #3 control circuit. Should I trust the computer diagnosis and go for 2000$ repair or not? Thanks for your precious help.

Your choice, but I would just premix two-stroke oil from now on and ignore the light.

I am using synthetic oil in hot climate, may be it's a wrong choice. I would like to try another 4-stroke oil before going to premix, any suggestion?
Just for my info, what mileage have you done by using premix?

What makes u think u made the *wrong* choice for going Synthetic oil in hot climate ?

I premix for 25 K miles. Good enough ?

U need to learn how this motor works first, then u'll know Premix is a MUST.

This is part of the problem I have. I think the latest PCM reflash fixed it for me, but the jury is still out at the moment.

No I think synthetic oil is not so bad, but my 8 goes to the safe mode all the time
Ok, I am willing to try to premix, so please could you advise me the oil brand and everything you learnt on premix. Many thanks
Do I need to make any transformation on the engine before premixing?

if your OMP fails, u should not be able to rev over 3000 rpm. (I think)

You might want to check ur CAT converter like alz0rz suggested.

You dont need to mod your motor to premix, if u ride a bike b4, u know what premix does. To add it, the first time to add it, is best to do it when the tank is almost empty.

almost empty tank, Put about 4 oz of premix into the tank, Just fill her up, drive away. Then next time, if u're 1/2 tank full and u want to fill her up, just add 2 oz of premix in b4 u fill up, etc.

Pre-Mixing, while good for the engine, won't take care of the problem of the PCM sending the car into safe mode. If the OMP is the problem, you ill probably have to "bite the bullet" and have it replaced.
A clogged cat will also limit your ability to rev your engine and cause a CEL.
U.S. warranty on emissions systems is 8 yrs/100K miles.

Yes less than 3000rpm, then switch off the car and start again, so that I can rev up to 5000rpm.
It looks to be the pump.
What about the engine oil 4 stroke, I still have to maintain it above the minimum level. What can of 2 stroke oil should I put into the gas tank? synthetic??
So If I well understood, if I premix I don't need to change that OMP.
Thanks for your precious reply
