Exclamation Engine starting Problems!!!!!!

OK, Been having problems gettting the car to start....
1. Changed Plugs
2. Changed coils-New from Mazda Motorsports..

now it wants to start but doesnt, right before I changed everything I drove the car in to the garage and smelled some thing weird, looked under the hood saw a little bit of smoke then looked under the car and saw the area around the O2 glowing red.. after i turned the car off it never wantewd to start again that when i proceeded to change plugs, wires, and coils..

Any help would be very greatful!!!!

glowing red around o2 sensor is a sign of a bad cat. you might be under warranty for it depending on year and miles. un bolt the front of it pull it down and see if tis melted, broken up, or plugged up. use a flashlight. it should look like a honeycomb if its good. you also might be flooded. read the stickies

you are still in warranty for federal emissons-free cat if its bad. if you have a 550rwhrex you should know about a flooded rotary engine

Now you know what's going on with the rx8, and that's why they are stopping production on this vehicle...so sad indeed.

Stopping production isn't anything to do with that, what on earth are you talking about?

If it's a dependable car, without all those major issues, then Mazda should continue building them. Like my Mazda 6i, very little issues and a dependable car...truly. Mazda still builds them, and probably for more years to come. Anyway, all i'm saying is, the rx8 has a lot of problems, specially with the engine compression. If i just have the pink slip on the rx8 right now, then i'll be trading my rx8 to an evo in no time, with fewer issues, not like the rx8. I still want to keep my rx8 for as long as i wanted to, but it will depends on the issues i'll be getting in the near future. I'll let you guys know the outcome.
