hi in my 2005 rx8 when i turn it on to warm up it gives off a very smelly oder what could be casuseing this? smells pretty bad kind of like its coming from the engine anyone else experience this issue

 

You are using very subjective terms. We have no idea what smells bad to you.

Example: the smell of curry makes me gag. Some people love it.


You are going to have to be far more descriptive.

Well, since no one has yet to figure a way to send smells over the internet as of yet, you might need to take your car to a mechanic.

Off the top of my head, I'm going to recommend you have your mechanic inspect the catalytic convertor to see if it's still good, and to check your ignition system, in case you aren't properly igniting the mixture due to a part having gone bad.

We can add other smells that some people might hate, such as front brake caliper seized and is melting the brake pad against the rotor, spinning the rear tires too much, coolant overflowing, electrical wiring is shorting/burning out, rodents nested in your air box, someone put raw meat in your vents, ran over a skunk without realizing it and parts of it's guys are jammed into your splash pan, accessory belts are burning up, fuel is leaking from the fuel lines...

 

I hate the smell of apples.

 

My car smells like garbage everyday, at 5:15. But only when I drive on the Hwy home from work......

 

When i turn my car on in the morning all i smell is performance.
