hi every one i picked up my 8 from the body shop today and they said that the engine light had popped on during its month there. when i drove it home the idle was way low. i had to rev it to keep it from dying. when i got home its about 12 mi away i popped the hood and some steam (i think) came out. also engine fluid had leaked out from my overflow. it is an 05 mt wit 82000 mi on it. help!

where do you live? why did you have it at the body shop? how many times did they flood it while they had it for the month? what's the cel code?

im in norcal it was at the body shop to get a ms bumper on it as well as fix a fender. i dont think they flooded it and whats the cel code?

 

They might have overfilled the rad.....

If they fouled the plugs you will need to drive it hard for more than 12 miles before they behave again....if they are old plugs throw in a new set...

the engine light is a "check engine light". when its on the computer has determined that some sensor has detected a problem. so it turned on the light and stored a "Check Engine Light" code in its memory that can be read and helps diagnose what is wrong.

In order to diagnose the car we need some info in the form of that cel code. go to an autozone or some other shop and ask them to get the code for you. the connection point is under the dash below the steering wheel.

ok so i went to the dealers and they said it was the coils so i replaced them along with the plugs and wires. my idle is getting bad though. the car idles fine until it warms up and then it will fall and die. help
