UK Engine Issues

Looking for a bit of advice on my recent issue with my rx8. Ill give a brief story to give you a picture of whats happened.

I've noticed over the past week that I've been losing a lot of power up until around 2500rpm even in first gear. When this happens I get short bursts as if the power is there but not wanting to follow through.

I noticed that also the car has been wanting to take 4-5 seconds before the engine actually starts.

I started the engine yesterday morning and as usual it took 4-5 seconds for the engine to roar into life, however when I started to reverse out of the driveway the engine cut out. I then proceeded to try and start the engine but to no avail. Since then I've tried started the car in numerous occasions but nothing happens other than the starter ticking over and over.

I have had the ignition coils and spark plugs replaced last year and have probably only done around 3000 miles with them so I don't believe them to be the issue.

I've also connected up my OBD sensor to the car and found no error codes present.

Any advice on possible problems and ideas to rectify the issue or troubleshoot the issue would be most appreciated.

It's currently flooded.

Your prior symptoms all point to either failing ignition or failing compression. Possibly a couple of other items, though some of the points you make seem to indicate that it isn't any of those (clogged cat would kill high end power first, not low end, MAF would be messing up all over the place, ESS would be messing up all over the place, vacuum is just down load, but doesn't affect starting, starter affects starting but not making power once running, filter chokes power up high first, not down low, O2 failure is usually all over the board, grounding problem usually doesn't lengthen the cranking time before firing, etc...)

But since the issue has not been corrected, it died while cold and getting the excess cold fuel, plus more fuel from actually using the throttle, and when it died it entered a flooded state.

A tow start or push start is your best bet here, since the problem that caused your flood still exists, and will keep re-flooding it. Get a compression test once you have it started.
