we went through checking the ignition coil, spark cable, spark plugs, O2 sensor and found no problem. what is the next suggestion?

the car seems to be working fine, it is still running normal, its a 6 speed manual. just that the light is on.

Cool Reader....

You need a code reader, one that can read the new "CAN"bus standard.

Read the number, and use the sticky (in the Tech section) of the codes to pin down the problem.

Then they are NOT OBDII, CANbus-compatible scanners. Do a search on the forum for sCANalyser to read about it. This is a system that was developed by a couple of forum members in Australia and it has had good reviews. You can purchase it on line. It requires a computer, BTW.

RX7 ? rofl

Just like what Go48 said, get an OBDII CAN-bus compatible scanner. you should be able to get one cheap at your local auto parts store, most new cars has that port so theres NO WAY that you cannot get such scanner.

You went 115? you just voided your warrenty man. Anytime you go over 109mph the CEL comes on and stores a code in the RX8's PCM. Next time you go in for service they can pull this code and know you have been over the set limit.

haha just ******* with you - most likely you had a misfire. i was doing a very high rate of speed one time on the highway and had the same thing. I bought Harrison CanScan tool and cleared it.

check your MAF sensor. if not, you need to get it scanned. I remember reading a post that had ALL the codes and what they meant. Wish I would have subscribed to it.
