Engin Light on after replacing ignition coils on 2004 Mazda RX8
So i have been having the low idle and stalling issue. Today i replaced the coils and the car would start until i pressed on the gas then it started right up and the idle was around 1500rpms which was great but the engine light and battery light was on. I finally realized that i forgot to connect the wire that goes to the filter. Once i connected it the car turned on fine and stayed turned on but the idle went below 1000rpms its back to where it was in the beginning. Also the check engine light is still on and i tried resetting the ecu but still the same. Did i do something wrong or is there something i must of forgotten.
P.S. Im only 17 so im pretty much a rookie at this

Its suppose to idle below 1k. Mine is at or around 800 rpms. Also take the car somewhere like a autozone and have them hook it up to a scanner and pull the codes this will tell you why its on. Are there any mods done to the car. My light stays on due to a catless exhaust.

well the engine light went off just now and if you say the idle is normal than everything is normal. Ill just have to wait and see if it wont stall on me. thank you tho and no i dont have any mods
