electronics go haywire - anyone else?
A week ago, my "door open" light permently lit up.
4 days ago, my gas gauge entered reverse (drive more, gauge needle goes
higher). But the door open light went away :-).
2 days ago, my hazard lights came on permanently, even with key off
(pulling a fuse is the only way to turn them off, but then you lose indicators).
Today, if all the door are closed, there's an incessant clicking from under
the passenger console - some solenoid/switch down there is horribly confused.
That cleared itself after 12 hours.
Oh, the gas guage entered reverse again for a while.
I await tomorrow's new symptom with dread mixed with morbid curiousity.
Wahat links these things? Please?!?
Yes, I now have a service appointment at the dealer later this week
but having already talked
with them I realize the chance of going away reassured and with things
working is slim-to-none.

Hermitage Holdout
I'd vote an intermitent short is potentially at the root of the problem. Maybe a connector with a boot slightly askew or a piece of wire with a spot of insulation sliced, either making intermittent contact with a grounding point or another live current source. Good luck if this is it, they are damned hard to track down sometimes.

These cars are too new for connector corrosion issues -- especially on Nipponese cars. But the battery and its terminals are the usual suspects in most automotive electical issues. Clean the terminals and check for corrosion.
