Electric Power Loss Perpahs?

Driving down the road today, just crusin at like 3500 rpms. Car suddenly stalls. I try to crank it up again...nada. So then I'm on the side of the road, and it does not even make a sound when I try and crank it. It's like, the key is uselss. Tried the spare key, and the same thing! It is very strange to me, as my in car electronics still work. I still have radio, cd, lights...But no sound or nothing when I try to start!! Any1 ever have this happen to them?

So....no CEL then?

Hmmm, in cases like this the first thing I look at are mods. If someone has tinkered under the hood, it makes sense to look there first.

I see in your sig that there has been a whole tribe of tinkerers let loose under there....

Might want to check the fuses. If the security Key on the instrument panel flashes when your turn your key, check the engine fuse.

When one of my coil failed at the track I had the same problem, the coil melted caused a short circuit and blew the engine fuse.

Otherwise, like Gomez said check all mods you have under the hood.

yeah a friend of mine had the same thing on his 8, he couldn't get it to crank, I think he said the problem was a starter fuse.....

if you're still under warranty I wouldn't roll up into the dealer with all that under the hood hahaha, you know how dealers are about aftermarket products....they'll blame it on your turbo faster than you can say *******..

I went back out right after I posted cus I had an idea... I still hadn't checked all teh fuses, but only the ignition and starter ones! I swapped the relay starter switch with the other relay form the headlight relay switch and still nothing, so I eliminated that prob. Then, I noticed there were engine component 1 and 2 fuses. Thought I had looked already, but they had slipped by me. Engine comp1 fuse was toast. Put another one in, and car cranked 1st try. Don't know what caused it, but sumtimes **** happens and fuses blow. At least, thats my conclusion for now.
