dealer can't figure out what happened, help

okay, i parked my 8 on the side of the street in the pouring LA rain last night, i drove it just hours before and it was fine, but when i went back to later to start up my car, the engine wouldn't crank, i turn the key to start position and nothing happens...i ruled out flooding and battery problem cuz all the lights/radio/high beam are functional...anyways, i did notice that my theft deterrent light was flashing, so i tried it again w/ my valet key, same thing, light just kept on flashing...so i thought for some reason my car couldn't recognize my key anymore

i had it towed to the mazda dealer this morning and hours later the tech called back saying for some reasons they can't figure out, the on board computer somehow erased all its data and that's why it couldn't recognize my key. they don't know what caused it but they will go ahead and replace it under warranty.

has anyone experienced w/ this problem before? or care to share some thoughts on why/how this could've happened, just seem like an expensive part to replace if this situation happens again in the future when i'm no longer under the factory warranty, so wanna see if anyone can provide an explanation for it and hopefully i can avoid it in the future.

also my car is having a strong vibration when its in reverse or stopped while in gear, but vibration goes away as soon as the car is in motion...any expert here that can shed some light w/ this issue?

also my driver side AC is constantly blowing cold air while the heater's on, its like i'm having dual climate unwillingly, and the dealer fed me some crap saying that i have to turn the AC off to get the heater to work properly, but even with the AC off, i still get cold air from the driver side...is the dealer giving me BS or do i really have to turn AC off to get heater to work on the driver side

First time I ever heard of the "Computher somehow erased all its date." line.
As for the vibration its a bad Motor Mount. Thats under warrenty.
The AC will turn on when you turn your heater on? Uhhh ok. Turn the arrow from blue to red=Hot and look for the light green AC light. If its on press it so it turns off=No light.

yeh first time i heard that line either

tks for the vibration input, i'll see what the dealer says once they get the damn computer replaced

as for the air condition problem, what i was trying to say is that when i try to blast my heater, the driver side vent will blow cold air while the passenger side blows hot air. the dealer told me that in order for both side to vent out hot air, i have to press off the AC button, it worked for awhile and lately even w/ the AC at off position, the driver side will still blow out cold air while passenger side vents out hot air

is there a motor that positions the vent under the dash, maybe its stuck, i have no idea how the venting system works... but if there are two pathways and one is stuck the wrong way, it seems to me thats why you cant get hot air to the other side...

maybe there more then the computer that got erased

maybe your car is haunted, as long as your car is its not silver youll be ok, aka brittny spears video..

good luck

I've heard that line but uh...it could have been a driver malfunction.
