@ XSNIPERSGOX I haven't done the parking lot thing to check for the fuel pump yet, I'll mess with that today.
Did a compression test, and the engine's at 81 PSI in the rear rotar housing when I think it's supposed to be around 120 PSI. Didn't bother checking the front rotar housing (partly bc it's a bitch to get to those spark plugs lol). I had plans to rebuild the engine anyway using of of the kits from Atkin's Rotary.
Is that normal to pull CELs from P0300 to P0302 when compression drops over 30%? ... I'm def open to any advice you forum guys have to offer =/

I struggled with this same problem. My 8 kept throwing P0302 code and a blinking CEL when i accelerated. i checked and rechecked the ignition, even replaced 2 ignition coils.
I added some Seafoam to the gas, then topped off the oil (which was admittedly low) and the CEL magically disappeared. It could've been carbon deposits in the injector or intake valve or simply poor lube. regardless, the CEL is gone.
I hope this helps you guys out.

well today i bearly got my rx8 back because it needed a new cat (which i got for free : ) but when i shifted to second gear and tried to red line it the cel was blinking i took it to autozone he just said its a random misfire, but is the cel blinking bad? like should i not drive it untill its fixed? or what :/
Reset the Vram and the Kam by doing the following:
1. place the keys in the ignition and turn to the ON position but do not start
2. Pump the brake pedal about 20+ times in 10 seconds until the oil level needle goes to the right then back to the left.
3. turn key to off position.
4. Hold down the Trip Reset button and turn the key to the ON position
5. Wait for the odometer to read TEST, then turn the key to the off position
6. Repeat steps 4 & 5
This will reset the Vram and Kam, and will allow your engine to learn any new parts you have added. When i did this it made my CEL stop blinking, but it was still there. I then disconnected the battery, plugged it back in, drove about .25 miles, shut off the engine and restarted. I then drove it for a mile and no CEL!
Does your car have a rough idle or misfire at all when you drive it?

i just bought an rx8 2004 and it has a p0302 cylinder misfire, p0125 insufficient temp for closed loop fuel and p0506 idle air control system rpm lower then expected. what could be the problem. the vehicle seems to have a hard time starting up and whenever it starts the engine is very shaky.

hi
i have recently bught rx 04 . had engine replaced at 6k and at same time all plugs, coils and radiator was replaced 2. lukily for me under dealers expence. about month ago i was driving pretty hard and had engine misfire at 7000 rpm i was probably doing 17 8km/h. the cell just flashed no solid cell. i came home scanned it with guage no code. i gave benifit of doubt 2 bad fuel as there was nomisfires wht so ever for 2-3 weeks during city driving.
however i was out and about today i was going through rpms up and down just trying 2 shed some carbon no misfires. then i decided 2 have some fun and opened it up i was doing 180km/h going frm 3rd to 4th and flored thes gas. damn there it was at 7000 rpm flashing cell. i eased on gas cell went away.
however tryi ng 2 make sure wht just happened i steped on it again and same pattern goin frm 3 to 4 th but i didnt flored gas all the way no cell, i kept going and finally eased off at about 190 km/hr. came home even though cell was not on i scanned system it came up with p0302 2 n cylinder misfire no data frame stored though. if u guys could help tht be great and save me a trip 2 dealer and few bucks............thanks

i have recently baught rx 04 . had engine replaced at 65k and at same time all plugs, coils and radiator was replaced 2. lukily for me under dealers expence. currently 74k on clock. about month ago i was driving pretty hard and had engine misfire at 7000 rpm i was probably doing 17 8km/h. the cell just flashed no solid cell. i came home scanned it with guage no code. i gave benifit of doubt 2 bad fuel as there was no misfires wht so ever for 2-3 weeks during city driving.

Back on the forums now again after getting my new engine into the car again and I got the p0302 code after driving the car a kilometer or so. Now the block is brand new but the coils and ignition had 81k kilometers on them from the other block.
Could this be that the fuel on the car is 11 months old? I keep the engine under 4k rpm untill it's driven in, since I was told to keep low rpm's for about 500 kilometers.
the check engine light switches between blinking and constant lighting while driving and I think it's constant while I don't accelerate and just keep the gas steady and then it starts blinking when I accelerate.
Ideas?

BHR all the way. The difference is that you won't ever have to replace them again after 40.000km
Spark plugs will last a bit longer, too. I am able to squeeze 2 track days out of them now, i had to replace them after 1 before. Of the many european users owning them the average is 10.000km more out of them, from 20k to 30k. Huge difference!

ah nice, I'm gonna go over the wires just to see if I can get the flashes away untill the bhr coils arrives then, I notice while driving the car it seems like 50 percent of the time the engine doesn't have the power it's supposed to, but if I just touch the gas pedal slightly while driving it seems quick as it should be. the engine have only been driven for 20 kilometers so far so I still won't hammer the pedal for a while. just want the check engine light to stop flashing and lighting.

If this occurred after an engine replacement... are you sure that everything was reinstalled correctly? Double check everything just in case!

not entirely sure since I have to check them, gonna go over the wires one more time, but everything else seems ok so shouldn't be anything wrong.
the car have been standing still for 11 months, with all the parts in a heated garage while I was waiting for the new engine, and could be a connection to the coil has come loose while I was carrying it or something, I'll check it later today

You need to change that as soon as possible!

I'm not sure if this helps anyone but I had similar power loss issues around 6RPM. I upgraded the ignition system including the wires, plugs and coils. This helped for a time. I started having similar problems again this time starting after 4RPM. I had everything checked out by my usual mechanic and they cleaned the throttle body which helped a bit but didn't fix the issue. I took it to a secondary mechanic and they found the problem. My catalytic converter had been clogged horribly. After replacing this part, I've had nothing but perfect revs out of the car. My car though, has 138,000 miles on it and the lower the miles, the less sure I am that my fix may work for you.
