Cylinder 1 Misfired
Cylinder 1 Misfired
hey i was wondering my enigine light came on and my scanner said it's cylinder 1 misfire detected, and i was wondering if i change my spark plug wire if that'd be good cuz i just changed my spark plugs a month ago so i think they'er still good. wellz if someone can help me much thx
first thing to try when a misfire code happens is resetting the eccentric shaft profile, turn the ignition to the ON position (don't engage the starter) and then pump the brake pedal as fast as you can until you see the instrument gauge needle swing on the dash, this resets the profile
also pull the room fuse from the driver's side kick panel box for several minutes (lowest fuse inline, blue 15 Amp), this resets the fuel trims in the ECU for quicker relearning, the ignition key should be off/removed for this one

ok i went to the dealer today cuz nothing else was working and they said that my spark plug wasn't in straight and to tap it out and putting in a new plug is gonna cost me $478...should go to the dealer or should i try somewhere cheaper???
$478 for touching your spark plugs??? assuming spark plugs is $20 (which in most place, that's how much it would cost)...the rest of 458 dollars go to labor by removing a wheel so they can unscrew the plugs...talk about some high labor cost
and beside...if the spark plugs wasn't in straight....wasn't that suppose to be cover under warrenty? they installed incorrectly, that's not your fault

can't tell you thread size off the bat. but get more spare plugs as you don't wanna re-use those anymore anyways. then also ask for the tool of proper thread pitch the same time you get new plugs... simple =)
