check to make sure they are seated first. the front lower wire tends to come loose..

after that, i would start thinking about new coils..

Check your coils with a timing light to verify they are working, You can have a trailing coil fail and you will not notice you car running much different.

first thing to try when a misfire code happens is resetting the eccentric shaft profile, turn the ignition to the ON position (don't engage the starter) and then pump the brake pedal as fast as you can until you see the instrument gauge needle swing on the dash, this resets the profile

also pull the room fuse from the driver's side kick panel box for several minutes (lowest fuse inline, blue 15 Amp), this resets the fuel trims in the ECU for quicker relearning, the ignition key should be off/removed for this one

$478 for touching your spark plugs??? assuming spark plugs is $20 (which in most place, that's how much it would cost)...the rest of 458 dollars go to labor by removing a wheel so they can unscrew the plugs...talk about some high labor cost

and beside...if the spark plugs wasn't in straight....wasn't that suppose to be cover under warrenty? they installed incorrectly, that's not your fault

Well, the OP did say that HE just changed his spark plugs about a month ago, so it sounds like he did do it, and it sounds like he cross threaded it when threading it into the rotor housing. Im guessing Mazda is charging him the $478 to remove the plug and retap the hole since the threads will be buggered up.

that really sucks silent.
part of being an enthusiast is to enjoy learning about your own car and tending to its needs. the help or advice taken if you allow should only be from other experienced mechanically inclined enthusiasts. (thats my opinion, if newb)

i only hope you grow from this experience and wait to see what we(as a forum community) can offer to you of assistance in the future. and pls., don't be afraid to get ur elbows dirty... its always best(in terms of satisfaction) to get it done yourself and having the confidence that you will do it right.

best wishes

can't tell you thread size off the bat. but get more spare plugs as you don't wanna re-use those anymore anyways. then also ask for the tool of proper thread pitch the same time you get new plugs... simple =)
