Question Cruise Control fluctuates

When driving at 120 km/hr i set my cruise and it does not stay constant.. In fact i can feel the car going faster and slowing down along with the speedo....

the dealership will not test drive it, as they will not drive over 110km "as that is the speed limit". PLease Help

Offer to take the tech on a ride so they don't have to drive over the limit.

not sure what you're saying...

my cruise control works based on speed. if i set it to 50 mph, it will try to maintain that speed, so if I go up a hill, it will give more gas, if I go down, it will stop giving gas. Is this what you mean by fluctuation? Or are you saying the car goes 120km/hr, then 100km/hr when on flat surface?

You need the recall flash!

It's running to lean you will damage your motor.

The flash gives the car more oil.

The cruise problem is one of the supmtons that caused the recall.

The thing with the cruise control is that when you have it on you can still accelerate by stepping on the throttle, it will go back to the preset speed if you let go again. It will also accelerate if it senses the car going uphill vice versa.

Arrow Ratio....

There is a change in the fuel ratio at 76 mph (almost exactly 120 km/h).

Try 122 k or 118 k, see if it still surges.

It gets richer at 120k, so if you can keep it around 118/119, you MAY see better cruising mileage......get back to us.

Yeah, I've noticed a slight surging with the cruise set and no extra load on the engine. In other words, if you are traveling on a level stretch of road with no excess stress on the engine/drivetrain, the car seems to be making minute corrections to the throttle setting to maintain the set speed. It is barely perceptible, but it's there. Is that what you're referring to?

For me it's not a big deal so I have not pursued a "fix". I think it's one of those things you just have to live with, unfortunately.

I noticed this just last night on the way home from Emeryville, CA...thought it was the road surface or something..but it was freshly ground smooth.

My cruise control keeps a rock solid MPH, but in doing so I can feel the car slighlty surge each time the car adds a bit of gas to keep it going the same speed. Almost imperceptible but a tiny bit annoying.
