I zoom therefore I am.
there's a bunch of threads on this problem, and they're all bad for you.
mysql is right, get to your dealer. There is a TSB about the bracket snapping.

Mine has developed this symptom as well.. For the past couple of months it had just been giving me a little "click" every so often. However, it's gotten worse and now it's creaking pretty loudly.. Feels like stepping on a bag of Tostitos..
The funny thing is, this only happens when the car is warm (or has been driven for a little while). When I start her up in the morning, or when I leave work in the evening, it feels normal. Could this be something besides a failing bracket? I got under there with a flashlight and the welds look sound.. If I press down on the pedal, there is no play at the bolts where the bracket attaches to the firewall, but I get the creaking sound, which may even be coming from behind the firewall, can't be sure..
Things that happened over the weekend that may have contributed to the problem:
- 900 mile road trip
- 100 mile ice race on a very bumpy surface
- getting stuck in the snow banks twice
Could the snow getting under the car have something to do with it? Could something have rattled loose? Most of the race was done in second gear, and the road trip was all highway, so it's not like the clutch got that much use..
I'm gonna be getting under the car tomorrow to try and figure it out, but any tips on what to look for would be helpful..
Thanks,
-D

My clutch pedal does the squeak upon depression and realease intermittently as well. I mentioned it to the service writer yesterday after my msp-16 flash, and response was "meh, just spray some silicone under there".
I read some other threads on here where that has stopped the squeak, but has it just "muted" a more significant problem.
BTW, I just printed the TSB^^

hey did anyone figure out the actual problem for this, the same thing has been happening to me for a while but i dont think that it can be that cut switch. depressing that thing with my hand even after the car has been driven for a while doesnt make that noise.

Any one got this issue resolved yet? Please post the update. I recently started having this squeaking clutch issue on my car. My car just passed the warranty period. Any info will help. Thanks.

squeaking noise doesn't mean it's breaking.
Watch for the metal to bend, and the clutch no longer be in the original position (it will be shifted to the right or left) - that's the only way to know that it's on the way out.

i have the mazsport clutch bracket. my clutch was not breaking - so this upgrade didn't have any visible advantages. I shift at the same speed. The clutch can still wiggle left and right, and it won't fix squeaking if the spring is the thing causing it.

i believe that i may be experiencing this problem. I have one question. The noise cannot be heard from inside the car only on the outside. Is that true with this problem, cause it appears the clutch cut switch is on the inside of the car? When i press the clutch to the floor is sounds like a dog squeaky toy.

I have the brackets installed as well, and it still squeaks. The torsion spring just ripped through the bushing and is currently ripping through the sheet metal. Looks like I may need an entire clutch pedal assembly. Make sure the entire assembly looks good and not only the welds.
