So you keep your 8 revved over 7k RPM for "half the day"? Now I know you are full of baloney.

Okay then please explain to me how peoples engines go "BANG" and all of the sudden their compression is lost and they need a new engine. If you can explain to me clearly how I am wrong and back it with correct information then by all means I will retract my statement.
This link will find all the answers you need.

Once you finish with that link you'll see that most RENESIS engines do not go "BANG", but die with a whimper -- slow starting, low power, flooding -- due to low compression. The few that do go "BANG" usually fail because of detonation, which is a completely different animal than a misfire.

^.............check his locale...........that's why I didn't mention Autozone or any of the normal US places! He needs to find one in what I believe to be the frozen North. I'm not sure how does it up there for free.

You hope one of your buddies has an OBDII scanner. In my case, everyone said "What's OBDII?" So, I just ordered one from ebay. It should be here this week.

I was thinking about the what I was doing when the CEL came on and I'm guessing it's more likely a fuel starvation thing. I was going around a corner at high speed, WOT and about a quarter tank of fuel.

In any case, the scanner will tell me.

An OBD scanner will not tell you that you ran out of fuel.

Was it a lefthand corner? If so, you MAY BE on to it.
Check out other threads for fuel pump/sock issues.
Think it usually occurs under the conditions you've stated and USUALLY on lefthanders!
Scan tool may not help here depending on real issue, but you should get on anyway........well worth the money. Needs to be CANBUS compatible. www.Scanguage.com is a great one to start with.

Correct. But it will tell me why my CEL is still on and whether I can just clear it and be done.

Until I have more data, it's kinda pointless guessing what has happened.
